Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen has announced he will require surgery to address a fractured arm, stating that the injury could keep him out of action for up to six weeks, NaijaFooty reports.
The Nigerian striker shared details about the setback during a livestream with social media influencer Carter Efe, where he elaborated on the nature of his injury, the upcoming procedure, and his anticipated recovery period.
Discussing the situation, Osimhen explained, “Undergoing surgery is necessary because my arm is broken. The recovery timeline is usually five to six weeks. Hopefully, by six weeks at the latest, I’ll be ready to return to football.”
He went on to outline the rehabilitation process, saying that after four weeks of initial healing, there is typically a two-week period dedicated to rebuilding fitness through individual training before rejoining team activities.
The injury occurred during Galatasaray’s intense UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool at Anfield. A challenging first-half tussle with defender Ibrahima Konaté left Osimhen in pain, ultimately forcing his substitution. Subsequent medical scans confirmed a fracture in his right forearm.
Currently back in Nigeria for a brief break, the 27-year-old forward is preparing for surgery and the rehabilitation journey ahead. His return to the pitch remains contingent on how swiftly his recovery progresses after the procedure.
