Transfer: Slavia Prague table €2m bid for Nigerian starlet Bewene

Czech champions Slavia Prague have intensified their pursuit of Nigerian talent Abdullahi Bewene, putting forth a €2 million offer for the promising winger, Naija Footy reports.

The 21-year-old has quickly become one of the standout young players in the Czech top league due to his impressive performances with Banik Ostrava, drawing interest from numerous clubs before Slavia made this significant move.

Bewene joined Banik Ostrava in 2025 and swiftly became an integral part of the team. Although he is versatile on either wing, he primarily plays as a right midfielder. Known for his speed, direct style, and creativity, Bewene was one of the season’s leading young talents.

During the 2025/26 campaign, the former Flying Eagles player had a productive spell, participating in 31 games across all competitions, scoring five goals, and providing four assists for Banik Ostrava. His strong performances secured him a place in the senior Super Eagles squad, highlighting his swift ascent in European football.

According to Transfermarkt, Bewene’s current estimated value is €850,000, which makes Slavia Prague’s €2 million offer significantly above his market valuation. The club sees him as a valuable long-term investment, believing he has the potential to evolve into one of the league’s leading attacking stars.

For Slavia Prague, this prospective transfer aligns with their strategy of signing promising young talents capable of having both an immediate impact and generating future value. With regular participation in European competitions, Bewene would have an appealing platform to further his development and compete at higher levels.

Negotiations are anticipated to continue in the coming days as both clubs work towards finalizing the deal. If completed, Bewene would be the latest Nigerian player to join the Czech champions, highlighting the rising reputation of Nigerian footballers in Central European leagues.
