Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has provided a significant lift to both Fulham and the Nigerian national team by receiving clearance to return to competitive action following his recent injury, Naija Footy reports.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva announced that Iwobi has successfully resumed full training and is in contention for selection in Sunday’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The midfielder had been sidelined due to a hamstring injury sustained during the first half of Fulham’s goalless draw with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. This setback ruled him out of Fulham’s last three league matches against Aston Villa, Arsenal, and AFC Bournemouth.

During his pre-match press conference, Silva expressed satisfaction with Iwobi’s recovery, highlighting the player’s importance due to his versatility and impact in midfield. He confirmed that Iwobi trained consistently throughout the week and was now fully reintegrated into the squad.

Iwobi’s return also comes at a strategic time for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle as Nigeria prepares for international friendlies against Portugal and Poland. Having played a vital role under Chelle’s management, Iwobi remains an integral part of the national team setup thanks to his creativity, composure, and tactical adaptability.
