Nigerian forward Ahmed Adebayo has joined the Finnish club Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat (KTP) on a one-year contract, with the possibility of extending his stay. This marks a new chapter in Scandinavian football for him, Naija Footy reports.
The 24-year-old striker arrives at KTP with a notable career history across Northern Europe. A product of Nigeria’s Box2Box FC, Adebayo has played for Estonian club JK Tammeka, Norwegian team IK Start, and Maltese club Valletta FC, where he spent the latter half of the previous season on loan.
Throughout his professional journey, the centre-forward has made over 120 senior appearances and scored more than 35 goals in league and cup matches. His most successful period was with JK Tammeka, where his performance earned him a move to Norway’s top division with IK Start. He also made a strong impression during his loan at Valletta.
According to Transfermarkt, Adebayo is valued at €200,000. Standing at 1.88 meters, he can also play from the left wing and remains one of the promising Nigerian forwards in Europe.
In an exclusive interview with Naija Footy after his transfer, Adebayo shared his enthusiasm for the move and his goals with KTP.
“I’m delighted to join KTP and grateful for the opportunity the club has given me. Finland is a new challenge for me, and I’m ready to work hard, score goals and help the team achieve its objectives. I believe this is the right step in my career, and I can’t wait to get started and meet the fans,” Adebayo told Naija Footy.
